Dr.Arnab Kar is a leading practitioner of Internal Medicine, Diabetology & Critical Care in the city of Kolkata & Howrah, with more than Fourteen years of experience in the medical field.
He completed his MBBS from NRS Medical College with double Honours in Physiology and Biochemistry. Having a sound clinical knowledge and expertise he remained the College topper in Final professional MBBS in Medicine and achieved the Prestigious Prof. A.K. Nandi memorial Medal in Medicine. After completion of his MBBS he remained as House Physician in the Department of Medicine in NRS medical college. He pursued his post-graduation in General Medicine remaining college topper again and followed it up with Post graduate diploma course in Clinical Endocrinology and Diabetes from prestigious Royal College of Physician, UK. He also had completed a post graduate course in Diabetes from Boston University, USA. He worked as a Senior Registrar in the department of Cardiology FORTIS hospital Kolkata. He was a Senior Medical Officer in West Bengal Health Service.Later he joined in West Bengal Medical Education Service and remained an Assistant professor in WBMES.
Presently Dr Kar is working as Consultant Physician & Diabetologist in ILS Hospital Howrah, AMRI Hospital Salt Lake and attached to various hospitals and clinics in Kolkata as Visiting Physician & Diabetologist.He keeps himself updated in modern advances in medicine by regularly partaking in various national & international conferences & seminars as delegate & faculty. He remained the member of prestigious American Colleges of Physicians(ACP).
Dr.Kar believes in evidence-based medicine and his approach towards his patients reflects that. His special interests are in the diagnosis of difficult cases and treat them accordingly.He clearly explains the disease processes to his patients including its treatment & adverse effects using diagrams. His dedication to his patients can be underlined by 24x7 availability over telephone, SMS or WhatsApp in cases of any emergency.
